【Case Study】Points of "Report/Contact/Consult"
At the office in Japan, "Hokoku(Report), Renraku(Contact), Sodan(Consult)" is abbreviated to "Horenso", which is a play on words as, in Japanese Horenso means spinach. "Horenso" or spinach is very important in Japan, because we consider "Horenso" a great source of energy in the work place.
Many companies apply training methods for communication that utilize the "Horenso" system. When a supervisor gives an order to a subordinate at work, subsequently the subordinate should report, contact and consult to their supervisors. Therefore, employees can share their job status and situations with their supervisors so that their teamwork would improve.
